[METADATA_HANDLING: describe which metadata is retained in originals, removed from previews, or used. If precise location or other sensitive personal information is collected, complete the applicable sensitive-information disclosures and controls.]
Your photographs and designs
Project photographs are used to provide the design and production services you request. They are not automatically published in a public gallery.
While you design, your browser may store photographs and project information on your device. If cloud saving or project submission is enabled and you use it, the selected files and project information are also transmitted to our service providers. A project stored only on one device may not be available on another device.
We use the photographs, layout, selected dimensions and crops to prepare your piece. Staff or contracted designers may review the content when needed to provide assistance, check quality or resolve a production issue. Manufacturing providers receive the files and information needed to make the approved piece; delivery providers receive the information needed to deliver it.
We will seek separate, specific permission before featuring identifiable project photographs in our portfolio, website, social media or advertising. Declining that permission does not prevent you from ordering.
AI enhancement is not part of the current designer workflow. If optional enhancement is introduced, we will explain the processing and provider before you choose it and update the relevant notices before sending photographs to that provider.
Who receives information
We disclose information as needed to operate the service to these categories of recipients:
- Shopify and payment providers: storefront, checkout, order and account services, transaction processing and fraud prevention. Shopify also processes certain information under its own policies. See Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy.
- Hosting, storage and file-processing providers: storage of submitted projects and generation or delivery of previews and production files. [CONFIRM_ENABLED_PROVIDERS_AND_STORAGE_LOCATIONS; name Amazon Web Services only if deployed.]
- Design and manufacturing providers: the project content and production details needed for the work you request. [CONFIRM_MANUFACTURING_PROVIDERS_AND_COUNTRIES.]
- Delivery and customer communication providers: contact and delivery details, service messages and subscription communications where applicable.
- Professional advisers and authorities: information reasonably needed for accounting, legal obligations, security investigations or protection of legal rights.
Information may also be disclosed in connection with a proposed or completed business transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality protections.
Providers may process information in the United States or other countries, including countries where manufacturing takes place. We describe confirmed service locations above; using a US cloud region does not mean every provider processes all information only in the United States.
Cookies advertising and browser choices
We use cookies and similar technologies for functions such as sessions, security, shopping carts and saved preferences. Some project information may also be stored in browser storage. Clearing local storage may remove projects or photographs saved only on that device.
[TRACKING_DISCLOSURE: identify the analytics, advertising pixels, apps, session recording or other tracking tools actually enabled, their information categories and purposes, and whether other parties collect activity across websites.]
[SALE_AND_SHARING_DISCLOSURE: insert the verified disclosure selected in the implementation notes. Do not publish a blanket “we do not sell or share” statement without checking pixels, apps and Shopify Network Intelligence.]
Where provided, use [PRIVACY_CHOICES_URL] to manage cookie or advertising preferences. You may also change browser settings; disabling necessary storage can affect carts and locally saved projects.
[GPC_AND_DNT_RESPONSE: accurately describe the tested handling of Global Privacy Control and legacy Do Not Track signals. These are different mechanisms. Complete this disclosure before publication.]
Email choices
If you choose to receive marketing emails, you can unsubscribe using the link in those messages or contact info@project.love. We may still send messages needed to handle your inquiry, account, project, order or privacy request.
Permission to receive marketing emails does not authorize publication of your photographs.
How long we retain information
We retain information for the purposes described here, subject to the following schedule and legal exceptions.
| Information |
Retention period or criterion |
| Browser-only photographs and projects |
Until you remove them, clear the relevant browser storage, or your browser removes them. Copies you download remain under your control |
| Submitted projects that do not become orders |
[ABANDONED_PROJECT_PERIOD] after the last project activity |
| Original photographs and working files for completed orders |
[POST_DELIVERY_PROJECT_PERIOD] after delivery or completion, unless you separately choose an available archive service |
| Production files and approval records |
[PRODUCTION_FILE_PERIOD]; retain only the portions needed for support, production issues or legitimate recordkeeping |
| Account and inquiry information |
While needed for the account or inquiry, followed by [ACCOUNT_OR_INQUIRY_RETENTION_CRITERIA] |
| Financial and order records |
As needed to complete transactions and meet applicable accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and legal requirements; this does not automatically require retaining original photographs for the same period |
| Security logs and backup copies |
[SECURITY_LOG_PERIOD] and [BACKUP_EXPIRY_CYCLE], with restricted use during expiry |
| Marketing and permission records |
Until withdrawal or another applicable retention criterion; a limited suppression or compliance record may remain so we can honor your choice |
We may retain specific information longer when required for a legal obligation or a genuine dispute. Information awaiting expiry in backups is handled according to the stated backup cycle. Removing a cloud project does not automatically erase copies previously downloaded to your device.
Privacy requests
Contact info@project.love or use [PRIVACY_REQUEST_URL] to request access to, correction of or deletion of your information, or to ask about your choices. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and authority, particularly before releasing or deleting private photographs.
We respond under applicable law and explain any permitted exception. Depending on your state and the law applicable to Project Love, you may also have rights concerning portable copies, targeted advertising, sale or sharing, sensitive information, authorized agents or an appeal. We do not require you to surrender a statutory privacy right to receive our services.
[OTHER_STATE_RIGHTS_AND_APPEAL_METHOD: complete after confirming where services are offered and which state laws apply.]
California privacy information
California residents can contact us through the methods above to ask about information we hold and how to correct it.
[CCPA_MODULE: include the following paragraphs only after confirming applicability and completing the required prior-12-month inventory.]
Where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies to our business and your information, you may request access or disclosure, deletion, correction and portability of covered information, subject to legal limitations. You may also have rights to opt out of sale or sharing and to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
An authorized agent may submit a request using [REQUEST_METHOD]. We may ask for proof of authorization and verification as permitted by law. Our notice at collection identifies the information collected at the relevant collection point and the purposes, recipients and retention periods applicable to it.
[PRIOR_12_MONTH_DISCLOSURES: specify the actual categories collected, sources, purposes, categories of recipients for business-purpose disclosures, and categories sold or shared, if any. Use the verified data inventory; distinguish planned future processing from historical practices.]
[OPT_OUT_LINK_AND_SENSITIVE_INFORMATION_DISCLOSURE: include the applicable controls, scope and tested response to preference signals, or the accurate explanation of why a particular control is not applicable.]
Children and family photographs
Our ordering and design services are intended for adults aged 18 or older. Adults may provide family photographs that include children when they have the rights and permissions needed for the project. A photograph of a child supplied by an adult is different from collecting information directly from a child using the service.
We do not knowingly invite children under 13 to submit personal information directly. If you believe a child has provided information directly to us, contact info@project.love so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Security and updates
We use safeguards appropriate to the information and the services we operate, including controls on access to private project files. [CONFIRM_IMPLEMENTED_SAFEGUARDS before publication; do not describe planned AWS controls as already deployed.]
We may update this policy as the service or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where required.
